The honest version — what we do, what we don't, and why this isn't another job board.
For Truckers
What you get
Real pay benchmarks from drivers in your area, equipment, and experience level
Carrier ratings submitted by other drivers — pay accuracy, home time, equipment, dispatch, and more
Trends over time showing how rates are moving in your market
Optional: exclusive offers from approved carriers, only when you turn that on
What you share
Your pay rate and equipment, anonymized in benchmarks. Your name is never shown — not your full name, not even your last name. Other drivers see only your role, equipment, and experience.
Your reviews of carriers you've worked for. Reviews are 100% anonymous. Carriers cannot see who submitted any specific review. Other drivers cannot either.
Your status (happily employed, open to offers, or actively looking). Only carriers you've opted in to can see it — and even then, they can't see your contact info until you accept their offer.
What's optional
Submitting your pay rate (encouraged, not required — but the more drivers share, the better the benchmarks)
Rating carriers you've worked for (optional, anonymous, and the foundation of how we hold carriers accountable)
Receiving carrier offers (off by default — you have to actively opt in via your status toggle)
What it costs
Nothing. Free forever. No subscription, no premium tier, no upsell.
For Carriers
What carriers pay for
Approved carriers pay HelloTrucker a monthly subscription for access to the trucker community.
Carriers also pay an additional fee when they successfully hire a driver they found through HelloTrucker.
What carriers can do
Browse aggregated, anonymized pay data to understand market rates
Post job offers visible to opted-in drivers
Reach out to drivers who've set their status to "Open to offers" or "Actively looking"
View their own carrier rating and respond to reviews professionally
What carriers can't do
See driver names — first or last — anywhere on the platform
See contact info (email, phone, exact location) until a driver explicitly accepts an offer
Contact drivers who are set to "Happily employed" — ever
Identify which driver submitted any specific carrier review
Buy or download driver lists
Post offers without going through HelloTrucker's verification process
Our Promises
Five things we will always do for drivers
1
Your name stays private. Always.
Carriers never see your name — not your first name, not your last name, not any part of it. Other drivers don't either. In pay benchmarks, you appear as your role and equipment ("owner-operator, reefer, 8 years"). In carrier reviews, you appear as nothing at all — every review is anonymous. The only person on HelloTrucker who knows your full name is you.
2
Reviews are 100% anonymous.
When you rate a carrier, the carrier cannot see who you are. They see the rating, the role, the equipment driven, and the tenure — never your name, never your account, never anything that could identify you. This is enforced at the database level: carriers literally do not have access to that information. Rate honestly. There is no retaliation possible.
3
You control who can reach you.
Carriers can only contact drivers who have explicitly opted in via the status toggle. "Happily employed" means you're invisible to recruiters. No exceptions, no loopholes, no "premium" carrier tier that bypasses this. You can change your status anytime, and changes are instant.
4
We don't sell your data.
HelloTrucker doesn't sell, share, or rent driver information to any party — carriers, brokers, advertisers, or anyone else. Carriers pay to access the platform; they don't pay for your data. Your information stays yours.
5
Carriers are accountable to drivers.
Every carrier on HelloTrucker is verified before they can post offers. Every carrier is also rated by drivers like you. Bad carriers don't last here — and we publish carrier ratings openly, so drivers always know what they're walking into.
How We Make Money
Where the money comes from
HelloTrucker is paid by approved carriers — monthly for platform access, and a placement fee when they successfully hire a driver. That's it. No ads. No data sales. No hidden fees.
Why we built it this way
Most trucking job boards make money by selling driver leads to as many recruiters as possible. That's why every CDL driver who's ever filled out a form gets blown up with calls for the next six months.
We don't do that. We charge carriers more, accept fewer of them, and put drivers in control of contact. Fewer offers, but better ones — from carriers who've been vetted and rated by the community.
Frequently asked
Is HelloTrucker really free? What's the catch?
No catch. We charge carriers, not drivers. The platform is free for CDL drivers forever, with no premium tier, no paid features, no upsell.
Can carriers see my name?
No. Never. Not your first name, not your last name, not your initials. Carriers see your role, equipment, experience, and metro area. That's it. Even if you accept an offer from a carrier, your name is only shared if you choose to share it directly with them.
Can carriers see my phone number or email?
No — not unless you explicitly choose to share it after accepting an offer. Even drivers in "Actively looking" status keep their contact info private until they decide to share it with a specific carrier.
If I rate a carrier badly, can they figure out it was me?
No. Reviews are anonymous to carriers and to other drivers. Carriers see ratings and aggregated feedback but they cannot identify which driver submitted any specific review. This is enforced at the database level — carriers do not have access to reviewer identity.
How do you stop carriers from spamming me?
Three ways. First, carriers can only contact drivers who've opted in via status. Second, every carrier is rated by drivers — a carrier who spams will get rated low and lose access to the community. Third, we manually approve every carrier and we remove ones who don't treat drivers right.
Who counts as an "approved carrier"?
Carriers go through verification before they can post offers or contact drivers — DOT number, operating authority, safety record, and a manual review by HelloTrucker. We turn carriers down, and we remove ones who don't treat drivers right.
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes, anytime. Account deletion removes your profile, ratings, and pay submissions from the platform within 30 days. Your reviews remain (anonymized) so the community data stays intact, but nothing tied to your identity remains.
Why should I submit my pay rate?
Because the benchmarks are only as good as the data. Every driver who submits their pay makes the numbers sharper for everyone — including next year's version of you, when you're negotiating your next job. And remember: your pay submission is anonymous in the benchmark. No one sees that you submitted it.
Are my pay submissions anonymous?
Yes. When other drivers see pay data, they see the role, equipment, experience, and metro — never your name or anything else that could identify you.
