Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: Name, email address, phone number, and password (encrypted — we never store it in plain text).
• Trucker profile data: CDL class, endorsements, equipment types, years of experience, availability status, pay rate, desired rate, and whether you are willing to relocate.
• Carrier profile data: Company name, USDOT number, recruiter name, and company location.
• Location data: The city and state you provide when signing up. We geocode this to approximate coordinates (latitude/longitude) to display your location on the map. We do not collect real-time GPS data.
• Messages: Messages you send through the platform, including conversations with Anna (our AI assistant), are stored to provide the service.
• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and session activity, collected via PostHog analytics.
• Ad attribution data: Whether you arrived via a Meta (Facebook/Instagram) ad, collected via a browser pixel.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To display your trucker profile on the map and list for carriers to find you
• To match truckers with relevant job offers from carriers
• To power the messaging system, including the Anna AI assistant
• To send you communications about your account, new features, or relevant opportunities via email or our CRM (GoHighLevel)
• To measure platform performance and improve the product using aggregated analytics
• To measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns

3. Who We Share Your Data With

We share data only with the third-party services required to operate HelloTrucker:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and real-time messaging infrastructure
• Vercel — hosting and edge network
• Mapbox — map display and address geocoding
• Anthropic — AI responses via the Anna assistant (conversation context is sent to process your message; Anthropic does not store it for training by default)
• Stripe — payment processing for carrier subscriptions
• PostHog — product analytics (anonymized usage data)
• Meta — ad attribution via browser pixel (anonymized)
• GoHighLevel — CRM for trucker lead follow-up (trucker signups only)

We do not sell your personal data. Your email address and phone number are never displayed to other users of the platform.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile is removed from public listings within 24 hours and your personal data is deleted from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and local storage to maintain your login session and remember your preferences. Our analytics provider (PostHog) uses cookies to track usage patterns. The Meta pixel uses a browser cookie to measure ad performance. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect your ability to use the platform.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data in your profile
• Request deletion of your account and personal data
• Opt out of marketing communications at any time

7. Children's Privacy

HelloTrucker is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Your data is stored in Supabase, which encrypts data at rest. Access to our database is restricted by row-level security policies, meaning users can only access their own data. Despite these measures, no system is 100% secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at legal@hellotrucker.ai.

10. CRM and Marketing Follow-Up

When a trucker creates an account, their name, email address, and phone number are sent to GoHighLevel, a CRM platform we use to follow up with relevant job opportunities, platform updates, and recruiting support. This only applies to trucker accounts. Carriers are not enrolled in this CRM. You can opt out of these communications at any time by clicking “Unsubscribe” in any email or by contacting us at legal@hellotrucker.ai.

11. Data Processing and Transfers

HelloTrucker is operated from the United States. The third-party services we use (Supabase, Vercel, PostHog, Anthropic, GoHighLevel, Mapbox, Meta, Stripe) may process your data on servers located in the United States or other countries. By using HelloTrucker, you consent to your data being processed in the United States.

12. California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

• Right to Know: You may request a summary of the personal information we have collected about you and how it is used.
• Right to Delete: You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
• Right to Opt Out: We do not sell your personal information. We do share limited data (such as ad attribution identifiers) with Meta for advertising purposes. You may opt out of this by disabling the Meta pixel via your browser's cookie settings or a browser extension such as uBlock Origin.
• Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.
